Taro Tanaka's 'Grammar of Design' at Seiko crafted the iconic 44GS watch. Grand Seiko excelled in Observatory Trials, leading to the prestigious 4520-8000 model and the VFA series showcasing dedication to precision.

Before Grand Seiko became common, knowledge was limited. Original VFAs were easier to acquire. Author missed the period but owns a successor VFA from Quartz era. Accuracy may have decreased, but it's a historical oddity.
